Maha Shivratri is celebrated in honour of Lord Shiva once a year in the month of February/March. Though it is celebrated all over India, there are some differences in the traditions of different regions.
Lord Shiva is one of the greatest deities of Hindu religion. On one hand, he is 'shivam, satyam and sundaram' (truth, beauty and goodness). On the other hand, he does ’proloykando'/'tandavnritya' (destroys the world) if annoyed. Like human beings, Gods too have different facets of personality.
